On Monday we decided to go to Moab for some warmer weather. It was very nice (especially for the Winnipeggers. Our first stop was at the Canyonlands. Here we are just at a mini rest stop that had some cool rocks for the kids to climb on (that if they fell off of they wouldn't be gone forever).
These cacti were pretty cool but unfortunately Reuben got a little too close and his shoe got poked. Well he stood on one and the spikes actually go through your shoes apparently.
This is were my heart started not working properly. There was a lot of kids and when they'd get close to the edge I would get so nervous.
I loved the cool steps in the rock. This was Naomi and I trying to catch up with the group after a run to the bathroom. Naomi said that the outhouse was so beautiful. I never thought outhouses could be beautiful.
So we finished at the Canyonlands and then we went to Moab to check into our Hotel. That hotel I'm sure has put us on their blacklist. We checked in and then Aneen felt sick and threw up so we left Heidi and the kids there and went for dinner. Well at dinner Naomi puked once on the table and then again into her food so I took her back to Heidi at the hotel. Luckily it was just across the street. After supper the kids swam and then it was bedtime. That's when all the fun began. Naomi and Aneen were still puking but asleep mostly and then Reuben said he wasn't feeling well. I started to feel a little queasy too but we put the kids to bed and by that time I think Kieran had puked as well. So we started to watch a movie and by that time I was feeling really bad. I was holding it in as much as possible I did not want the mexican food to come back up at all. We sort of fell asleep and then Reuben puked and soon after Taya did too. I think Heidi had it the worst all of her kids were puking and it was the eve of her Birthday. I don't think she had any clean floor or bedding by the end of it. I was glad that most of the puke in our room made it to a bucket or toilet. I finally puked and then felt a little better but the night was not over. When we woke up the next morning I think Jordan (the only survivor) had gotten little sleep and we were all exhausted but we got ready packed up and bid that poor hotel good-bye. They were probably happy to see us go. Heidi decided to go home (who can blame her) and so there was 2 families left.
Day 4
We planned to go on the hike to see the Delicate Arch it was 3 miles long but we were sure our stomachs could hack it. With a little pepto anything's possible right?
We got to the Arch with some effort but it was worth it. It was gorgeous! The kids were a little tired but they had fun.
We're hard to see but that's probably good because Naomi did not like to steep sides on either side of the arch.
